Saying Yes to Purpose Before You Understand the Plan
Have you ever felt God ask you to move, but He didn’t give you the map?
In Luke 1, Mary didn’t wait for clarity she gave God her yes without needing all the details. Her surrender birthed the Savior.
This devotional is for the woman carrying something sacred, feeling unsure but called.
Just like Mary, your obedience may be the key to unlocking a generational shift.
Let’s explore what it means to say yes to purpose. before you understand the plan.
📖 SOAP Devotional (Luke 1:26–45)
S – Scripture
Luke 1:38 (NKJV)
“Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.”
O – Observation
Mary didn’t have all the details.
She was a young, unmarried woman engaged, but not yet wed. The angel’s announcement shook everything she expected about her future. And yet, her response was one of immediate surrender.
Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, later confirms that Mary is blessed for her belief not her perfection, not her preparation, but her belief in the promise.
Your purpose may not come with clear instructions. But like Mary, your yes births something holy. Your womb may not carry Jesus but it carries legacy, calling, and kingdom.
This chapter is proof that God will interrupt your plans to insert His purpose.
A – Application
Ask yourself:
Where is God asking you to say “yes” even when the plan is unclear?
Are you waiting for clarity before giving God your surrender?
What womb (vision, business, idea, book, child, calling) is growing inside of you?
As a faith-filled woman, you don’t need all the answers to be aligned.
Mary didn’t say yes because she had it figured out she said yes because she trusted God more than her own understanding.
➡️ Birthing your purpose doesn’t start with the blueprint, it starts with belief.
P – Prayer
Lord, I surrender my plan for Your purpose.
Help me to say yes, even when I don’t fully understand the outcome.
Just like Mary, may I carry what You’ve entrusted to me with faith, not fear.
Let me rejoice like Elizabeth when I see others walking in their calling.
Thank You for choosing me to birth something holy.

Your yes is a seed. And Heaven is watching over it.
You don’t need to know the full outcome you just need to trust the One who called you.
